Jambo - welcome to Kenya

Kenya is the birthplace of safaris, a land of dramatic contrasts where the snow-capped peaks of Mount Kenya overlook the iconic plains of the Masai Mara. From the "Big Tuskers" of Amboseli roaming beneath Kilimanjaro to the rugged northern frontier of Samburu, Kenya offers a classic African elegance. At Forage Safaris, we believe Kenya is a destination of endless variety, where vibrant Maasai culture meets the raw beauty of the Great Rift Valley and the turquoise waters of the Indian Ocean.

Kenya is a spectacular year-round destination. While the "long rains" between March and May transform the savannah into a lush, emerald paradise, the rest of the year remains largely dry and ideal for exploration. Even during the "short rains" of November and December, brief afternoon showers rarely interrupt the rhythm of the wild.

The Great Migration is the heartbeat of this ecosystem. To ensure you are always in the front row, many of our preferred migration camps are mobile, moving with the herds' ancient rhythm. The cycle begins with calving in the Southern Serengeti early in the year, with the herds trekking north to reach the Masai Mara between July and October. This is the peak of the drama, defined by legendary river crossings, before the Great Migration eventually turns south again to complete its incredible loop.
