Immerse yourself on an intriguing Margaret River Truffle experience during the cooler winter months of June, July and August.
Forage Safaris offers two unique truffle experiences in the Margaret River Region. With the Mediterranean climate, our wet winters are the harvest season for these delicious and intriguing fungi. These one of a kind truffle tours not only provide the opportunity to witness truffle hunts first-hand, but also include walks through the picturesque truffle orchard (trufferie), along with fun interactions with the friendly truffle dogs, with opportunities to dig up truffles and enjoy tastings of this unique French Black Truffle, also known as the Perigord Truffle.
These exciting truffle experiences require you to put on your boots and warm jacket to follow the farmer and dogs for a walk into the truffle orchard. Here learn about what a truffle is, their history and the relationship between the truffle and the tree, walk with the dogs and witness their hunting technique, learn how to check and harvest the truffle, rounding up your truffle experience by tasting the truffles back in the warm farm shop with a delicious hot beverage.
MARGARET RIVER TRUFFLE TOUR OPTIONS
Premium Truffle Tour : (Private tour, total tour duration 5 hours)
This includes an exciting two hour in-depth private “dig deep and eat” truffle tour, where you meet the farmers and dogs, walk and hunt with the truffle dogs, experience digging and foraging for truffle, enjoy four small dishes showcasing truffles as a light lunch, taste truffle product, see farm animals, and enjoy some refreshments.
The remainder of your Forage Safaris tour will take you to taste food and gourmet delights such as chocolate or olive oil, as well as partaking in a bespoke wine tasting at a selection of the many premium cellar doors in the Margaret River Region.
Note that this tour can be included in a Full Day Tour with a small upgrade fee, or upgrade a Half Day Tour to include a Premium Truffle hunt.
Tour Cost: $585 per adult, $365 12-17 yrs, $270 2-11 yrs (U2 free)
Standard Truffle Tour includes: (Duration, 4 hours)
This tour includes a one hour truffle tour, with an opportunity to divulge into the world of truffles. Meet the farmer for a warm drink, enjoy a walk with the dogs whilst they are hunting for truffles up and down the rows of trees, experience life on a working farm, enjoy truffle product tastings and a warm refreshment.
Continuing on your tour, we explore the Margaret Region and include tastings of food and wine, along with scenic stops to round up your experience.
Note: The one hour truffle tour is not private and will be part of a small group. However the remainder of your tour will be private and tailored to your interests. This shorter truffle tour can also be included for no extra cost (pending availability) when you book a Full Day Tour.

Margaret River Truffles & Wine: A curated four hour long tour which includes a one hour Truffle Hunt with the farmer and dogs, with additional visits to local producers and tailored wine tasting. COST PER PERSON: (minimum 2) Adult $375, 12-17 yrs $375, 2-11 yrs $165
Half Day Tour with Truffle Hunt: This 4 hour family tour option will appeal to all ages during the cooler months. Rug up warm and enjoy an invigorating Truffle Hunt, along with a tasty tour of the Margaret River Region’s variety of producers including hot chocolates, honey, olive products and more. COST PER PERSON: minimum 2 Adults $310 per person, 2-17 yrs $310 per person, 2-11 yrs $150 per child.
Full Day Tour: Add a one hour Truffle Hunt to to your Full Day Margaret River experience this winter. Additional COST PER PERSON: minimum 2 adults $180, 12-17yrs $180, 2-11yrs $115
Upgrade to an in-depth two hour Premium Truffle Hunt includes 2 hour tour, in-depth tastings with fresh truffles on 4 different plates. Available on any tour, on request.
Truffle Tour and hotel pick up on request.
Minimum 2 people, maximum 7 people. Young children will need to be carried on tour, no prams or pushchairs can be used on the truffle hunt
